USD 234 Update: Late Tuesday evening, the school district was notified of a possible threat that was going to happen at the high school on Wednesday, September 22. The Fort Scott Police Department has investigated the threat and has found that the threat was not credible. There will be police presence in and around the high school and other buildings today. The reason the police were able to investigate this possible threat was because students did the right thing and notified high school staff members who then informed the police and administration. We thank them for reporting the possible threat and would encourage any student who knows of a situation that could cause a disruption to the school day to report it to an adult. The school district will run on its normal schedule and police presence will be visible across the district for the near future.

This afternoon Bus #28 was in an accident out by the lake and everyone is fine. A truck ran a stop sign and caused the accident. Another bus is on the way to get the students home, so they will be later than normal. We are thankful everyone is safe.
